You Make Your Mind up: Pay Extra or Else Leave it to the Experts

We get 1000’s of error messages on the computer in it’s lifetime, right. Generally I ignore it, press Ok or else cancel and carry on with my work. This was till a message was popping up time and again in every 5 minutes, something needed to be done it was not going down without a fight. The message was about some problem with the driver of my pc, I didn’t even knew what a driver was so I searched for a drive guide or instruction manual on the web and found some info on the problem. I’m kind of on a cheap side, I will not spend money on calling the engineer to fix the issue and try to find some way to fix the issue for myself. I read the guide I found on the web for a hardware fix and followed the directions written. The guide said to download a free driver software program from there website, then restart the computer for the effects to take place. When my laptop started back up it was working really slowly, I thought it was because it was installing this application that the manual asked me to. As soon as my pc loaded I logged on the internet normally assuming that the problem was solved. The error message once more came up on the screen. I went out of my minds as I had been fixing the problem for almost half the day, but it was still there on my PC. This point I was not able to get rid of the message and the screen also began to flicker badly, the problem got worse. The next couple of days it turned impossible to work on my laptop and I was dependent on it for work. I took my laptop computer to a computer engineer, as I did not had a alternative. I informed the whole thing to the engineer that I was making an attempt to repair it myself, he mentioned the first problem was easy to repair but now I have made it worse. Now, I had became a web-based scam sufferer as I downloaded a virus in the name of that program. The engineer told me to get some safety software which he then installed and this quarantined the trojan virus that was on my pc, he then fixed my driver problem. The whole thing cost me about

What Is a Hard Drive

Thursday, February 12th, 2009

Hard drives put data wherever there’s a physical blank space on any of the platters that’s large enough to hold the binary in question. Once the data is broken down into little chunks called blocks, the file system (like FAT32 or NTFS) records where those blocks have been placed, and should they get scuffled around, where they have gone.
It’s easiest to imagine that a hard drive is a big filing locker with a key index on the side that lists where every page of every document is stored. A hard drive might not put all the pages in the same drawer, but instead you can read the index and see what drawer each page is saved in.
A hard drive will set about to store the entirety of a file on a single disk (it’s faster this way), but it won’t hesitate to store it on multiple platters if the need arises. As far as I am aware, a hard drive can only read from one armature at a time, though I’d be happy to see if I could get you an formal answer from a hard drive manufacturer.
The biggest speed boost for a mechanical drive comes from maximizing the drive’s areal density, or how many bits of information can be stored per square inch. The higher the density, the less distance an armature has to cover to load an entire file.
