Benefits of Ultrasound Equpiment
CT, MRI, and ultrasound equipment can seem to be a little confusing when first presented with them in a clinical situation. First off it’s important to take a look at each individually in order to get a clear understanding of what they are and what they do. First of all CT scanners are the fundamental imaging tool above the traditional x-ray devices. It is their job to scan a patient on a very 2D level. They can scan the patient at most any angle, but cannot quite do what is possible with an MRI machine.
In MRI a patient can be scanned in a more three dimensional perspective. Much like that on ultrasound the internal picture can be photographed in a variety of layers and depth. In Ultrasound imaging such as video is probably some of the most recognizable imagery from prenatal exams. A demand for more detailed images can be an incentive to acquire for modern equipment. Medical centers with the proper funding may or may not choose to buy new machines and instead opt out for refurbished and used ultrasound equipment. When the quality of the image is the determining factor as to when and how the patient is diagnosed and treated, a medical center needs to focus its greatest energy on improving the standards of its equipment.
