Your Cosmopolitan Land Market — Assisted by Property Index

Thursday, November 13th, 2008

Check out Property Index for help with overseas property investment!

Albeit the Property Index is actually a pretty young organization, (they were established only in March of 2007), they have very quickly become experts. In actuality they are a extremely unassuming organization fully concentrated on helping every customer who is dedicated to buy, sell, etc. property across the world. Their promise: to be of help to you to light on bang-on what you have called for very quickly as well as in a trouble-free manner. Estate is being offered in most parts of the world at present, probably the elite area being real estate on the market in Dubai. It should be no problem to chart the sensational property available in Dubai, one argument for picking properties here being property you can purchase and the opportunity of being able to live with such a animated and bubbly populace.

This is one of the truly sought after property markets at present, and in view of the scenic splendor and the great climate that surrounds you night and day, who could be wrong! Estate in Dubai is immersed in culture, art and history, this region has a long tradition as a home to several civilizations. Only one generation ago you would find a mere trickle of Englishmen who are looking for property in Dubai. Just ask everyone who has chosen to move to Dubai and they’ll be sure to confirm this. Some people would are wont to call it a basically irrelevant fad and others are wont to call it a that’s quite an addiction! People that will actually move to this area range from young freshly weds keen on a challenge in life to senior citizens who are looking to enjoy themselves and chill out.

Note that you may likely encounter a few difficulties when acquiring property abroad; there are normally hundreds of procedures to manage whether organizing, touring or actually purchasing. If you only miss one minor procedure that could definitely provoke wide-reaching difficulties as well as, more importantly, a financial trouncing. Naturally, as can be assumed with this well-liked area, property could well be rather costly in this area and that is merely caused by the growing buyer demand. Nonetheless the buyer presently is a bit spoilt for choice in a destination full of sunshiny geography and view. It presently has practically all a client may feasibly hunger for and then some.

Christmas Party Games: Holiday Gift Swap

Monday, November 10th, 2008
This popular game has many names. The game is called Christmas Grinch, White Elephant, Dirty Santa and more. No matter what you call it, it’s surely the most popular of Christmas party games. It’s also great for gift exchanges or secret santas at the office or at school. Here are the “official” rules for playing this game:
  • Everyone playing the game brings a mystery gift. Place all of the gifts together in one spot.
  • The host writes numbers on scraps of paper, one for every gift and places them in a bowl.
  • Each person draws a number.
  • The person with #1 picks a gift to open from the batch.
  • The person with #2 can choose to open another package or steal the gift #1.
  • If a gift is stolen, the person who had it then steals from someone else or picks another gift to open.
  • The game continues until everyone takes a turn opening or stealing a gift.
  • The last person to go can steal from anyone in the game or open the remaining gift.
  • Once a gift is stolen three times, it cannot be stolen again. Stolen gifts should be places behind the player’s back so that there’s no confusion.

Play Pool Better: Top Ten Ways to Improve your Billiards

Monday, November 10th, 2008

Billiards is an old and much loved game, particularly in the United States and the United Kingdom. This is a game that people of all ages play; even the younger kids can play now on special child-size tables that are widely available. It is also a game that, although once more popular with men, is now keenly played by both sexes. You can play pool in all sorts of environments, from restaurants and bars to halls and homes. It is also a game that can be as relaxing or competitive as you want to make it. Some people like to enjoy a friendly game over a drink after work, others like to unwind with a few games on their home pool table, and some like to join leagues and clubs and play to win.

1. Understand billiards in general

Whether you are young or old, male or female, a relaxed player or a competitive player, the chances are you want to play as well as you can. Being able to play well is all part of the fun of playing billiards, so it is important to learn the rules and strategies of the games you are interested in, and then try and improve your game on a continual basis. Improving your billiards game is particularly important if you want to play competitively; however, it is also important even if you enjoy friendly games – after all, it’s not much of a challenge if you can’t put up much of a fight against your opponent…plus, practicing the game is far too much fun to miss out on.

2. Practice the game

This is one of the key aspects of improving your billiards game – the importance of practice can’t be stressed enough, and many pros will tell you that getting in practice is the singularly most important part of becoming adept at billiards. Some people practice for hours each day – which, of course, is not practical for everyone. However, getting in some regular practice at your local pool hall, bar, or even in the home, can be a big help.

Having easy access is the best way to enjoy practicing this game. If you have to go to the pool hall or bar, you don’t always have the energy and motivation, particularly if you have been at work all day. This could mean losing out on a lot of valuable practice. However, setting up your own billiards table at home means that you can practice at any time in the comfort of your own home. Setting up a pool table/billiards room is relatively simple and very affordable these days, and once you have your room set up you won’t have to pay for games at the bars, halls or clubs – and you can enjoy a fantastic area in which to entertain, relax – and, of course, practice.

3. Don’t forget the cue

Your cue is a pivotal part of your billiards game – after all, you won’t get far without it! You should ensure that you buy a cue that is of good quality. However, strange as it might sound, you also need to find a cue that you can relate to. Remember when Harry Potter went to get his first wand in The Philosopher’s Stone, and he just knew when he had the right wand? Well, this is the sort of feeling your should aim for when you buy your pool cue. Hold the cue, get a feel for it, and make sure that you are comfortable with every aspect of the cue. Many professionals state that using the same cue for every practice and real game is a big part of their success, and if you are going to be playing with the same cue you have to make sure that it is one you are perfectly happy with.

4. Join a league or club

You could find that joining a pool league or billiards club or team can help to improve your game. This is not only because you will be able to get in some regular practice, but also because you will have a network of support. You can pick up tips and advice from other members of your team or club, and these can really help you to improve your game. Plus taking part in friendly competitions can help to give you that competitive streak, which in itself can help you to develop and improve your game through pure motivation.

5. Start simple

If you are something of a novice at pool then the trick of improving your game is to start simple and work your way up. There is no point trying to jump straight in to the most complex games. A game like 8 ball or better still 9 ball can help you to practice shooting and can help to condition your body in order to improve your game. Positioning and action is everything when playing billiards, and these simple, basic games will help you to improve both through practice.

6. Observe, observe, observe

We all need a mentor if we want to do something really well, and billiards is no exception to this rule. You can pick up some really useful tips simply by watching the pros and the very experienced. Whether it’s the latest world champion playing on television or whether it’s your best mate who’s known as a real whiz with the cue, you should pay careful attention when the experts are in play. Try and study their positioning, their actions, trick shots, and the way they play.

7. Use training balls

You can now get billiards training balls, and these can prove invaluable to someone just learning how to play or wishing to improve their game. These balls have a clear target to aim for, so when you are trying to pot the ball you will know exactly where to aim. Using these training balls can help to condition your mind when you are playing, and pretty soon you will be able to hit the mark without the specially marked balls, and you can enjoy potting your object ball every time.

8. Use online tools

There are plenty of online tools available to help you improve your billiards game, such as virtual pool. Although these games can’t help with the improvement of your physical stroke, they can give you a good idea of game rules and strategies, which are things that you must familiarise yourself with in order to start improving your game – if you don’t know how to play properly you can’t learn how to play better.

9. General tips

As well as the above quite specific tips on improving your pool game, there are also some general tips that you should bear in mind when you are actually in the process of playing or practicing billiards. Hopefully, these tips will help you to develop and improve your game so that you can play to the best of your ability. These general tips include:

• Cue Shot: Make sure that your stroke is smooth and consistent. You should place your other hand on the table, making it as stable as you can, and then allow the cue to slide through this hand as smoothly as possible – it is a good idea simply to practice the stroke before you start worrying about practicing with the billiards balls.
• Keep the cue ball in sight: When you are aiming, you should be looking at the cue ball and not the object ball. Aim to strike it just below the centre, and stay focussed on the cue ball as you shoot.
• Arm positioning: When you are playing, you should keep the arm you are shooting with close to your body, and your elbow should be bent at a ninety-degree angle. Let your shoulder do the work as you shoot – this is where the action and movement should stem from. Do not be tempted to use excessive force, as this will simply spoil your shot – simply keep it smooth and controlled.

10. Enjoy it!

One thing to keep in mind when trying to improve your pool game is – it is a game! Don’t let yourself get stressed or frustrated; simply enjoy it and enjoy practicing it. Billiards is a great way to relax and unwind, and shouldn’t be something that you get stressed about. As with many things in life, practice makes perfect. You won’t become a billiard pro overnight – it can take a while to become adept at the control, concentration, and movement required to shoot pool successfully. But you can have great fun whilst you are getting there.

10 Reasons Why People Don’t Buy From You

Saturday, November 8th, 2008

1. You don’t make people feel safe when they order.
Remind people that they are ordering through a secure
server. Tell them you won’t sell their e-mail address
and all their information will be kept confidential.

2. You don’t make your ad copy attractive. Your ad
lists features instead of benefits. The headline does
not attract at your target audience. You don’t list any
testimonials or guarantees included in your ad.

3. You don’t remind people to come back and visit.
People usually don’t purchase the first time they visit.
The more times they visit your site, the greater the
chance they will buy. The most effective way is to give
them a free subscription to your e-zine.

4. You don’t let people know anything about your
business. They will feel more comfortable if they know
who they are buying from. Publish a section called
“About Us” on your web site. Include your business
history, profile of employees, contact information etc.

5. You don’t give people as many ordering options as
possible. Accept credit cards, checks, money orders,
and other forms of electronic payments. Take orders
by phone, e-mail, web site, fax, mail, etc.

6. You don’t make your web site look professional.
You want to have your own domain name. Your web
site should be easy to navigate through. The graphics
should be related to the theme of your web site.

7. You don’t let people read your ad before they get
your freebie. When you use free stuff to lure people
to your web site include it below your ad copy or on
another web page. If you list the freebie above your
ad they may never look to see what you’re selling.

8. You don’t attract the target audience that would
buy your product or service. A simple way to do
this is to survey your existing customers to see what
attracted them to buy. This information will help
you improve your target marketing and advertising.

9. You don’t test and improve your ad copy. There
are many people who write an ad copy and never
change it. You have to continually test and improve
your ad copy to get the highest possible response
rate.

10. You don’t give people any urgency to buy now.
Many people are interested in your product but they
put off buying it till later and eventually forget about
it. Entice them to buy now with a freebie or discount
and include a deadline date when the offer ends.

About: “Photoshop Secret of the Pros” Book

Friday, November 7th, 2008

Photoshop Tennis?!?! It’s actually discussed in the book, Photoshop Secrets of the Pros. For those who have no idea about this thing, here’s a brief overview – in Photoshop Tennis, two designers take on one another over the Internet over a 10 round or ‘volley’ period. In each volley, the designer either creates a new theme in the initial volley, or they take what has been sent to him or her and start playing off of what was previously created. The results can be amazing as each volley can result in drastically different appearance each time out. Hmmm, sounds very interesting.

The main objective of Photoshop Tennis is to bring together the most talented web, print, broadcast and 3D designers in the world and launch friendly competitions among these designers. With this, you’ll see the different approaches and numerous styles that every designer adopts in the creation of their works of art. You’ll realize that the world of web, graphic, print and broadcast design is so complex yet fascinating.

The participants of these competitions might use different software applications in their design process but it will be their creativity and imagination that will work for them to stand out among the rest. Programs ranging from Illustrator and Freehand to Flash to 3D Studio Max and Maya were all used during the competitions. However, you won’t see too much use of Photoshop’s own plug-ins in the process. You’ll see lots of brushes, erasers, fills and use of various Levels commands to create their impressive artworks. The graphic art professionals used these tools to create their designs. Personally speaking, however, we shouldn’t judge them in the same way because they certainly have distinct personalities. Remember that art is a form of self expression. Their creations imply the kind of persons that they are. Indeed, when you get these strange bedfellows together, you’ll see what types of pieces result.

This is the first time I’ve learned about the book, Photoshop Secrets of the Pros. I find it interesting. After I finish doing this article, I’ll run to the nearest bookstore, look for this book, and buy it. I’ll still find out if I’ve already seen every Photoshop book possible. I also agree with the author of the article, I will love to see a video of the highlights of the series of these competitions that will show everything done in a step-by-step manner. We can follow this at home and attempt to obtain similar results.

A Look at Brochure Printing Services

Friday, November 7th, 2008

A brochure can be a wonderful promotional tool for a wide range of professionals, but getting them set up can be daunting. There are many brochure-printing services available that cater to both the amateur and professional. You can find them in a number of ways, including the phone book, the Internet, graphic design and advertising journals, or word of mouth.

Some companies will provide typesetting, design, color separations (four-color process), color proofing and proofreading service, while other companies just provide the most basic color printing, folding and shipping.

There are brochure-printing companies that will do everything for you; all you need is a clear idea of your brochure’s requirements and whether it is business, promotional or another application, and the brochure company will take it from start to finish. Brochure design can be a challenge, so you might consider working with the professional designer that many brochure-printing companies offer. Some companies even offer sales literature development assistance and strategic marketing plans. However if you do your own design, copy writing, typesetting and art placement, and use these services sparingly, you will save money. One thing to keep in mind if you choose to do so is that most basic brochure printing companies will warn you that they will not proof read your work, and that corrections cost extra.

If you simply start at the beginning with a step-by-step review of your needs, many companies will walk you through the features and benefits of their products and services. Because there is so much competition, many services (such as shipping) are offered at a discount or even free. Furthermore, most brochure printing companies will provide their own customer service representative who will work closely with you to make sure your job runs smoothly and efficiently through the entire process, from pre-press to final distribution.

You should investigate thoroughly each brochure printing company and the services they offer to make sure they meet your requirements. A well-designed brochure can work wonders, and are well worth the effort.

” 8 Simple Ways to Defend Yourself Against Evil Doers Both O

Friday, November 7th, 2008

There once was a time when
the only option people had when shopping was to either call in or snail mail in
a catalog order form or to jump in the family car, fight through traffic, and
wait in long checkout lines to complete the purchase.

Well, nowadays there’s still
a few major mail order catalogs floating around and we all still visit our
local retail outlets, but time has also introduced the internet as one of our
options to shop from the comforts of home.

The internet has made
shopping at home a breeze and along with it has unfortunately brought the
so called “Evil Doers” who I believe have such little happiness in their own
lives that they must leech pleasure from the hardworking and innocent
individuals of our wonderful and surrounding nations.

And yes, I am speaking of
the ever growing problem known as Identity and Credit Card Theft.

As an online and offline
consumer it is in my best interest to protect myself while at the same time
wanting to help others protect themselves as well.

Below is a short yet
thorough list of ways that you can follow to help yourself stay safe and be a
happy consumer and keep “Evil Doers” at bay.

1) Always shred sensitive
materials such as bank statements before throwing them away in the regular
trash. Just because the paper documents are in the garbage doesn’t mean they
are safe from peeping eyes.

2) Contact your local bank or
credit card provider to request a card with a low limit. This can make you feel
more at ease about shopping at those not so familiar places and can reduce the
damages caused by such an ill intended individual if they get hold of your
number.

Also never give out the
3-letter Card Identification Number found on the back of the credit card unless
you absolutely trust the merchant you are dealing with.

3) NEVER give out your social
security card number for any reason! If capable you are best to obtain a tax
I.D. number from the Internal Revenue Service or local tax agency.

If any “Evil Doer” gets hold
of your personal information such as home address, birth date, and Social
Security Number you are at great risk of being victimized.

4) Only purchase items online
through secure order pages which is typically indicated by a small, yellow,
“Padlock” image usually located somewhere near the bottom of your internet
browsers window.

5) If you ever receive an email
asking for sensitive information and claiming to be from a company that you
have an account with, NEVER supply the requested information and never click
any links or hit reply to send such personal information back to the “company”.

Many legit companies will
not ask for sensitive information via email.

If you get such an email you
are better off to make a copy of the letter you received then close that
browser window and then open a
NEW window and access the
company directly from their website address.

You should then submit the
email you made a copy of to the company so that their anti- fraud personnel can
take the necessary steps to send out warnings of possible fraudulent activity
to be aware of to its members.

6) Be cautious about
downloading and installing unnecessary programs onto your computer. If there
are programs that you indeed must download ALWAYS scan the files for viruses
and make sure that your anti-virus program is up to date.

There’s a wide variety of
viruses that are distributed to unprotected computer systems and some of which
are known as “Key Stroke Loggers” that record your sensitive log in names and
passwords and then are made known to the trouble maker.

7) If possible try to utilize 2
different computers when using the internet.

One computer should only be
used for general internet surfing just in case it was to obtain a virus such as
a Key Stroke Logger so there would be little threat of someone getting your
personal information.

Only use the second computer
to access more sensitive information such as online banking or other important
websites that require passwords and important information.

8) Finally, if there are young
members of the family that have computer use privileges be sure to monitor and
restrict the sites and programs they are allowed to use.

Many fraudulent individuals
love to prey on the unexpecting and inexperienced web surfer.

In any case just be certain
to contact the police or appropriate authorities the INSTANT you believe that
you have become a victim of Identity Theft or Credit Card Number Theft.

The sooner you tell the
authorities the better the chance they can help you recover from a financial
catastrophe.

1 Simple Step Towards Improved Customer Satisfaction for Web

Tuesday, November 4th, 2008

Most of your customers are not unreasonable sort of people. They understand that problems crop up and mistakes do happen. I don’t know about you, but I know that I am a MUCH more reasonable customer when the company I am purchasing services or products from promptly communicates any problems that arise.

The web is all about communication, so you would assume that any company that makes web hosting its primary business should really understand this and put measures into place that allows for the most reliable and uninterrupted communication with their customers. We talked about this a bit in our last article and promised to give you some tips about methods we have implemented to increase our ability to communicate with our customers during emergencies.

Let’s face it, there isn’t a web host out there who hasn’t experienced times where the server that their company web site is on has gone down. Sometimes only for a few minutes, but sometimes those minutes can turn into hours – or even days if a major piece of hardware has gone belly up on you. And in most cases, you don’t dedicate an entire server to your domain – you have customers who also share that server. Customers who now are not only unable to gain access to THEIR domain, but can not reach yours either. They are effectively cut off from electronic communication with you. So what do they do? How can they find out what is going on with their web site, and more importantly, when it will be back online?

Some hosts, like AlphaOne Technology, have emergency support available by telephone. In that case, (if they can remember the phone number since they can not access your website to find the number), they begin calling. And calling. And calling. Usually there are over 100-200 customers hosted on a single server. Do you or your staff really have the time to be fielding that many phone calls when you are in the middle of a crisis and need to devote your time to fixing the problem and getting the server operational? Probably not. Nor do your customers want to spend time on hold or dealing with busy signals. Every minute on hold, or every call that results in a busy signal, leaves a bad impression with that customer. They want to know WHY they are down and they want to know NOW.

If you are large enough to have multiple incoming lines & an automated voice mail system, a simple solution is to immediately record a server status alert, along with an honest assessment of what has happened and, if you know it, an estimated time that the server will be operational again. This will allow customers calling about their site being down to get the information they need without having to talk to a live technician. The customer is happy to be informed, (even if they are VERY unhappy about having their site down), and you have saved yourself time and money and can focus on the important problem at hand.

In your recorded status alert, let the customer know how often the status will be updated. We recommend that if a server is down longer than 90 minutes, updated information should be made available every 30-45 minutes.

If you are a smaller host with only one incoming line, you probably don’t have enough customers that busy signals will become a major irritant, but keep the message very short and to the point.

By now many of you are saying “what about those of us who don’t HAVE a tech support number to call?” Good question since a recent survey shows that over 75% of web hosting companies do NOT publish a tech support number. Fear not, there are a couple of other ways that we will discuss in upcoming articles. Our next article will talk about using Voice Over IP service and Instant Messaging.

Plato and Quantum Physics (Part 2)

Monday, November 3rd, 2008

In part 1 of this article we discussed the role of the observer in determining the outcome of measurement or observation, which was the main point of the quoted Plato’s statement. We also mentioned how the mathematical formulation of quantum physics presented some serious difficulty in as much as it came up with results that seemed absurd. A well-known example is the paradox known as Schrodinger’s cat.

Edwin Schrodinger along with Werner Heisenberg was the main architect of quantum mechanics. In 1935 he devised a thought experiment to illustrate the ambiguity associated with the state of a system prior to observation. Imagine a cat placed in a sealed box that also contains a vial of some poisonous gas and a mechanical hammer. The hammer is activated by a radioactive material with a Geiger counter and once activated it can break the vial releasing the gas. The radioactive atoms will disintegrate and the probability of their disintegration can be calculated precisely according to quantum mechanics rules. Suppose that the probability of the hammer being activated after thirty minutes is fifty percent. Then after thirty minutes the probability of the cat being dead is fifty percent but the probability of it’s being alive is also fifty percent.

When the box is opened after an hour the observer will find the cat either dead or alive. But prior to the observation, according to quantum mechanics the cat is fifty percent alive and fifty percent dead, which is physically absurd. In quantum mechanics, though, a system can be in several states each with a certain probability. This is called superposition of states. It is only through observation that the state vector reduction (wave function collapse) occurs. In quantum mechanical measurements it is the human consciousness, which causes the wave function collapse. Thus in Copenhagen interpretation the mathematical formulation had to be supplemented with philosophy in order to make any physical sense.

The question as to what is real and what is unreal belongs to the realm of philosophy. Our perception of the external world is what the mind projects after processing the information presented by the sensory organs. This is the perceived reality while the world outside is the objective reality. But this objective reality is constantly changing and depends on something else that may be called the ultimate reality. The perceived and objective realities represent ‘what is observed’ and the ultimate reality represents ‘what is’.

Plato’s words are simply an alternate expression of the assertion of quantum physics that if there is no observer, there is no observation and no system. What is there is a set of possibilities or potentialities and the set is real in a different sense.

Quantum physics deals with the subatomic world, which is inaccessible to sensory perception. In the macroscopic physical world the role of the observer has to be viewed from a different perspective. When the observer stops looking at an object it does not cease to exist. The star, you were looking at, continues to be in the sky even if you stop looking. But it is not the same star that you looked at before; it, like everything else, is changing constantly. The point here is that in space-time continuum there are no objects but simply events. If an event is not observed, there is no way of ascertaining whether it actually occurred or not. This uncertainty puts the reality of the event in question.
